Feb 8: Thought Prose

I wondered how people did it. People my age. People who used to be my age. Who used to be as youthful and standing at the beginning stages of their life.

I wondered how they managed to forge a new starting line for themselves, already running miles ahead while I had just gotten the queue to even stand there as I watched the people I wanted to be run so far.

But I knew what made them stand apart from everyone else. Everyone knew if they ever had a moment when they wanted to be something other than what the world told them to become.

He stood at a standstill, watching others walk, some jog, sprinting, some falling over their own feet and scraping their knee on the ground.

The last one had been me moments ago. Or perhaps longer. Or maybe it was not long ago.
